  • Cary, Meredith
I began practicing my specialty in Health Psychology/Behavioral Medicine in a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Georgetown University Medical Center in 1993 and have since been a behavioral sleep consultant for Georgetown’s Sleep Disorders Center. As a member of the Georgetown Psychiatry faculty for nearly a decade, I worked with patients in the Anxiety & Mood Disorders Clinics, the Pain Clinic, Neurology, Rheumatology, Internal Medicine, Cardiac Rehab, Lombardi Cancer Center, and ObGyn. While with the Chronic Pain & Fatigue Research Center at Georgetown, I co-developed a CBT treatment manual for chronic pain & fatigue and led CBT groups in which patients were 3 times more likely to gain significant function than controls. As a member of the faculty of Medical & Clinical Psychology at the ‘medical school for the military’ (USUHS) for six years, I directed Clinical Skills courses (including CBT for Insomnia at the Simulation Center) that were spread nationwide among Army Residents.

Over 20 years ago, I opened my private practice in Washington DC and moved entirely to Telehealth in 2020. I'm licensed to practice in Washington DC, Virginia, and all the 40+ PsyPact states. For over 30 years, I've loved working with people who have insomnia because CBT-I can have such a (relatively) quick, life-altering impact. Please find more at https://drcary.onair.cc.
