Virginia Runko, PhD, CBSM, DBSM is a psychologist and certified behavioral sleep medicine (BSM) specialist and diplomate. She provides supportive psychotherapy and conducts Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, depression, and sleeping problems in adults, including college students. She also provides treatment for those dealing with relationship or adjustment issues. Dr. Runko has a special interest in sleep; she received specialized training in BSM at Johns Hopkins and had previously worked on interdisciplinary sleep medicine teams. She continues to regularly conduct CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I). She also assesses for the full-spectrum of sleep disorders and, depending on this evaluation, can provide guidance for what other work-up or treatment may be needed. Dr. Runko has a collaborative coaching style that helps her patients achieve their therapy goals.
