Dr. Christi Ulmer is a clinical health psychologist with more than 12 years of experience in the field of Behavioral Sleep Medicine. She is the founder of Sleep Health Solutions, LLC; a behavioral sleep medicine practice and consultation service in the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina. Dr. Ulmer treats adults with complex sleep problems using both individual therapy and group-based interventions. She serves as a consultant on the Veterans Affairs dissemination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTI); providing training to mental health providers across the Veterans Affairs healthcare system. As faculty in the Durham VA psychology training program, Dr. Ulmer trains interns and doctoral level psychologists in behavioral sleep medicine. Dr. Ulmer is an assistant professor at Duke University Medical Center and Durham VA Center of Excellence in Health Services Research. Her research is focused on the adverse health consequences of untreated sleep disorders, developing strategies to increase patient access to behavioral sleep medicine, and integrating behavioral sleep medicine into primary care and specialty clinics.
