Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Sleep, Technology, and

Implementation Science

 

Location:  University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD

 

Description: A post-doctoral fellowship is available at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the Sleep Disorders Center, Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Department of Medicine. The fellowship will provide advanced training in sleep and circadian research methods, including technology integration and implementation science. The Fellow will gain expertise and hands-on experience integrating wearable and mobile sleep technologies as well as engaging with multiple stakeholders in a complex health system. The Fellow will join an active and productive research team and complete the fellowship better prepared for a career in academia, government, or private industry.

 

To be considered, prospective Fellows must have experience in protocol-driven human subjects research, preferably in a medical setting. Experience in one or more (but not all) of the following areas is required: sleep, psychology, nursing, health systems (e.g., hospitals), telehealth, online interventions, mobile health, wearable technology (e.g., actigraphy).

 

Training includes mentored clinical research as well as manuscript preparation, publication, and grantwriting. For fellows who are health care providers, clinical training in behavioral sleep medicine is also available.

 

Fellows receive a competitive salary and benefits. Qualifications: This position requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as experience working with human subjects preferably in medical settings.

 

The Fellow must be motivated to work with technology, engage with stakeholders, and ensure precise execution of a clinical research protocol. Those with advanced degrees in social sciences (e.g., psychology), nursing, and medicine are strongly encouraged to apply. Excellent time management skills are required.
